2020 Growing the Game Tournament Info for Reps & Players

2020 GTG IMPORTANT INFO

Hello and thank you all PVR Team Reps for getting your deposits in!

Below you will find a few reminders about the upcoming event. If you have questions please feel free to send them my way.

* The Balance of your entry fee is due before your first game of the tournament. You can make this payment before the event via e-transfer to Brian Broley, brianb@ballhockey.com, or pay at either of the Rinks ( BAC Indoor/Outdoor or Canal)

* Please submit your roster for review by February 1st. You can still make changes but please note the division guidelines and rated player lists as found on the ballhockey.com website under Tournaments. Teams that are caught with an illegal player will have that player removed from the event and lose the roster spot.

* All players must be 18 an older to participate in this event, your roster max is 18 goalies included for all divisions.

* All players must play in one of the three round robin games to be eligible to play in the play off rounds. If a player has not played in one of those games they cannot play, if they are caught it is an automatic forfeit for the team.

* The Round Robin games are done on a 5 point system. 1 point if you win the period, 0.5 points if you tie the period, 2 points if you win the game. These points will be posted on the standings chart that you will find on our website, this is also how it is determined who will move on to the play off rounds on Sunday.

* All games will be played between the two St.Catharines locations. The BAC (16 Melbourne Avenue) which has the Indoor and Outdoor Rink and the Canal Covered Rink (1944 Welland Canal Parkway). It is about a 7 min drive between the two rinks. For those playing in more than one division please note that we will not hold games for players to arrive from the other rink. Games will be played regardless if it snows. Fingers crossed for some good weather that weekend!

* Once the schedule is completed it will be posted on the ballhockey.com website, the website will be your go to location for tournament information, updates, standings etc.

* Teams are asked to come with their own jerseys. As a suggestion bring a light and dark set if you have them or at least a light and dark shirt incase we run into any color conflicts. Please note that the AWAY team for each game always changes if there is a color conflict.

* Any player suspensions during the event will be reviewed by management as well as the officials team and the team rep will be notified. We ask that all players treat each other, the staff, officials and the facilities with respect and have a great weekend. There will be zero tolerance for any abuse of staff, officials or the facilities.

* Outside alcohol is also not permitted. We have a fully licensed bar and restaurant right on site. Those caught with outside beverages in the facility or parking lot may be removed from the event. Please also pick up after yourself, it will be a busy weekend with a lot of people sharing the common areas, if you need a garbage bag please ask a staff member.

* This is a charity and memorial event, we remember the life of Pete Van Ryn who had a great love of the game. To honour his memory for each team that registered for the event a deserving youth will receive a free season of ball hockey or a week of Summer Camp.

This information will also be posted on our website as a point of reference. If you have any questions prior to please contact sarak@ballhockey.com.
